Welcome to CCSRU

Our Research Unit

Computational Climate Science Research Unit (CCSRU) is the special research unit under the "未来世紀都市学ユニット" and all the faculty also belong to civil engineering department and Research Center for Urban Safety and Security (RCUSS). We are challenging to explore the climate system and its variability from global to regional scale by using the numerical simulations (model) and diagnostic data analysis. We also closely collaborate with Computational Climate Science Research Team in RIKEN Advanced Institute for Computational Science.

Heavy rainfall and extreme wind are sometimes important factors that cause a natural disaster like as flood. These are associated with various meteorological phenomena; its spatio-temporal scales cover from 10 km to 10000 km, 10 min to 10 years. H ence, we need to have a wide perspective from global to regional to elucidate the rainfall system and work on it. Better understanding of the rainfall system leads the enhancement of disaster privation.
