Welcome to the Greiner Research Laboratory (GRL). The purpose of the GRL is deriving research outcomes with diverse approach methods and returning them to society, along with contributing to the development of nursing science through GRL activities. For this purpose, research topics derived from nursing practice are fundamental. The GRL is trying to construct and expand its research network with overseas researchers, and stepping up its international collaborative research.
The basic field of the GRL is gerontological nursing, with a focus on research to support elderly people and their families. In one recent international collaborative research project, we surveyed the status of nursing care for elderly patients and patients with dementia at acute hospitals, family caregivers taking care of elderly people at home, and undergraduate students’ awareness of elderly people. Future work of the GRL will also focus on how to further advance international collaborative research on elderly people and their families. Now the GRL is conducting new research with nurses working at Kobe University Hospital on care for patients with dementia.
In the graduate programs (MS and PhD), we endeavor to help students cultivate their fundamental research skills and promote their ability to interpret events logically, with the aim of fostering self-directed researchers who are capable of performing their research with both domestic researchers and those overseas, so that they can flourish in international research activities.
Please visit the GRL if you have an interest in joining us.
