1.8 Normalization of the gray levels. （Normalization）
Run the macro [Normalization] (Fig. 15) and expand the gray level range
from 1 to 254. An eight bit-image consists of 256 gray steps and 254 gray
steps are used leaving gray value 0 and 255 for the other purpose.
Resultant image (Fig. 16).
