北米西海岸地方の温帯針葉樹林の１０００年にわたる遷移過程を林冠の発達機構を含めて解明することを目指す。とくに、老齢林を特徴づける複雑な林冠構造を生み出す機構について、老木樹冠の発達機構から考える。
This research aims to elucidate the 1000-year successional pattern ofPacific Northwest forests from the canopy perspective. We especially focuson the development of structural complexity of the forest canopy and thedevelopment of old-growth crown structure.
